Under-Eye Puffiness & Dark Circles | ![]() |
![]() |
A common and frustrating condition that is often difficult to treat, under-eye darkness and puffiness are the result of number of causes. Darkness- This can be attributed to the often thin and translucent nature of under-eye skin which fails to conceal vascularity found around the eye. Certain conditions (such as allergies, fatigue and poor nutrition status) can often further worsen the appearance by increasing vascularity or impairing the condition of the overlying skin. Should superficial pigmentation occur at the same time, the darkened appearance is further enhanced. Puffiness – The appearance of “bags” is usually the result of excess fluid collection under the eye or protruding fat tissue. Bulging under-eye skin can be further worsened by the development of “tear troughs” or recesses found immediately below the area of puffiness. |
