As a chemist, Manzo has formulated products for Avon, Oscar de la Renta, Liz Claiborne and Giorgio Beverly Hills brands — leading to R&D supervisory positions at Eastman Kodak's consumer goods division, as well as the top management of one of the world's leading manufacturers of active ingredients.

Manzo holds 14 patents in such fields as controlled release technology, pharmaceutical preparations and nanoparticle technology. He has published numerous articles on skin chemistry, and is a standing member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and the American Chemical Society.
